TANNING GUIDE

Preparing your skin is super important to get that sun kissed glow that lasts!
So we have created these tanning tips for pre care & aftercare.

PRECARE
  • Wax/Shave 48 hours before
  • Exfoliate the body 24 hours before
Do not apply any moisturisers to your skin on day off
    your tan.
(Barrier creams will be applied to any dry area)
  • Remove any deodorant & perfume/aftershave before having your tan.
(chemicals found in these products can prevent fake tan from adhering to the skin smoothly. If work commitments prevent this we do supply a spritz to clean this off)
  • Do not wear makeup as we spray tan the face lightly!
(Please let the therapist know if you prefer not to have your face spray tanned.)
  • Tie up your hair or bring a hair band to prevent the solution getting into your hair.
(Disposable hair caps will be provided)
  • Remove Jewelry - Watches, rings & necklaces should not be worn whilst getting spraytanned.
  • Bring dark loose clothing like baggy T-shirt, joggers (avoid leggings and jeans) a dress etc & light footwear like sandals, slippers or sliders (avoid trainers) with you to prevent your new spray tan rubbing off, and allowing the tan to completely dry.
  • Be mindful of any underwear you wish to wear whilst being spray tanned as the lines will be noticeable.
    (Disposable thongs are provided)
  • Please allow 20 minutes for your appointment

AFTERCARE

  • Shower or bath after the development time has been reached.

(Leaving your tan over the development time will not create a darker tan but you may find that your skin will be itchy due to dryness)

  • Rinse off with just water, pat dry with a towel then apply lots of moisturiser.

(we recommend to use moisturisers often to keep the skin hydrated and keep that tan for longer)

  • You can shave after you have washed off your spray tan but its not advisable to wax until your spray tan has completely gone.

  • Avoid prolonged soaking in the bath as this will allow your tan to fade quicker

  • Frequent sauna and steam room visits will also fade your tan.

  • After 5-7 days you may notice your skin starts to look patchy this will be your new regenerated skin cells coming through after your pre-care exfoliation. We recommend to exfoliate the skin again to rub away any left over tan, Either in preparation for a new application of tan or simply moisturise to reveal beautiful glowing soft skin.

  • Sienna X spray tanning solutions contains no SPF therefore you will still need to apply sunscreen whilst in the sun.

  • To prolong your tan why not purchase the mini extender balm sachet for just £2 each or 2 for £3. Perfect when going on holiday and need to prolong that tan.

When can I apply deodorant and perfume/Aftershave?

Once you have washed off your tan you can apply like normal any perfume/aftershave or deodorant

What if I leave my tan on longer than the development time?

The development time is a guide to make sure that you do not remove too early as the colour will only get to the shade selected and leaving the solution on over the development time wont make you any darker but may cause dryness of the skin

Can I wear makeup?

You can continue with any creams, moisturisers and serums including makeup after washing off the tan. Its not advisable to apply anything on your skin whilst colour develops.

Can I apply self tan when the spray tan starts to fade?

Its possible to do this but as the spray tan fades your skin will start to look patchy because of the new skin cells generated after exfoliation. If you then add self tan over this your skin may look noticeably darker in patches.

When should I get my nails done?

If your planning on looking your best for any event then your probably be getting your nails done. You should do this before getting your spray tan.
